First Lego League Robotics & VEX IQ Teams

Hats off to our Cadence Campus Engineers First Lego League Robotics & VEX IQ Teams!

We are proud to announce that CASLV Cadence fielded 3 VEX IQ teams; two Middle School (Teams 20058 A&B) and one Elementary School (Team 20058C). They just competed in two tournaments for December and they are scheduled to compete in two more tournaments in January. On December 2nd, three Cadence VEX IQ teams competed at Mike O'Callaghan Junior High School. After seven qualifying rounds of matches, all three teams advanced to the final rounds where their final standings were:

Team 20058C (Eagle IQ): 2nd place,

Team 20058A (Mecha Eagles): 3rd place,

Team 20058B (AI Eagles): 4th place.

On December 9th, two of Cadence VEX IQ teams competed at Walker Elementary School. After six qualifying rounds of matches, both teams advanced to the final rounds where their final standings were:

Team 20058A (Mecha Eagles): 2nd place,

Team 20058C (Eagle IQ): 3rd place,

In addition, Team 20058A (Mecha Eagles) also received the Sportsmanship Award.

Also, Cadence teams are competing in Robot Skills (which consists of Driving Skills and Autonomous Coding Skills), and a separate category for Virtual Skills (which consists of competing in a virtual computer setting). Their team rankings in Nevada are as follows:

Combined Driving/Autonomous Skills

Team 20058C is ranked #3,

Team 20058A is ranked #17,

Team 20058B is ranked #28.

Virtual Skills

Team 20058C is ranked #1 (59 in the World),

Team 20058A is ranked #4 (87 in the World),

Team 20058B is ranked #6 (94 in the World).

All three teams are working hard to qualify for the State Championship, which will be held in February. This year there will be more than 8,500 teams competing world-wide in VEX IQ tournaments.
