Congratulations to the amazing Cadence and Windmill Campus VEX IQ Teams and their Coaches Mr. Shiver and Mr. Harper!
We are happy to announce that they dominated the VEX IQ Competition this past Saturday!
Both VEX IQ Middle School and VEX IQ Elementary Teams went above and beyond in this past week's third and final qualifier event for the season.
VEX IQ Team 20058a: Robotic Eagles was awarded The Team Championship Award, which we could not have accomplished without our alliance team 7833b Falcon Fury from CASLV Windmill. Additionally, Team 20058a: Robotic Eagles was awarded the Robot Skills Championship Award. Both of these achievements have qualified them to compete in State. The team made big improvements in overall performance and game strategy when compared to last week's event. Team 20058a placed 3rd out of 27 competing teams in the alliance teamwork rounds, which qualified them for Eliminations! During this high-pressure round, the students placed 1st among the competing teams. Finally, Team 20058b is currently ranked 192 in World Skills out of 3403 competing teams worldwide as of today. What a great achievement! We can't wait to see how they perform in the State Competition!
VEX IQ Team 20058c: Tech Eagles was awarded The Second Place Team Championship Award. Our elementary team was pitted against middle school teams and managed to more than hold their own during this event. Moreover, this achievement has qualified them to compete in State. The improvements made by our Elementary team are nothing short of groundbreaking because as of today CASLV Cadence Team 20058c Tech Eagles is the number one Elementary team in the state. Team 20058c placed 6th out of 27 competing teams in the alliance teamwork rounds, which qualified them for Eliminations! During this high-pressure round, the students placed 2nd among the competing teams. Finally, Team 20058c is currently ranked 794 in World Skills out of 4005 competing teams worldwide as of today. What a great achievement! I can't wait to see how they perform in the State Competition!
Not only did both our teams make it to the elimination rounds, but they both also placed 1st and 2nd place respectively.
Both of our teams placed in the top 10 out of 27 competing teams in the World Skills Challenges at the event.

Finally, a huge shout out to 7833b Falcon Fury from Windmill Campus for taking home the first-place award along with us and their achievements in achieving the Excellence Award! It was well deserved!
